How do the sessions work?

It’s simple! You book a session time that suits you. Then, you have two hours and 15 minutes to explore all of our eight play pods and perhaps grab a cuppa – or a bit to eat – in our lovely café.

We can accommodate up to 30 children within each session. And once the session has started, our doors are closed to the general public. Unlike a soft play set up.

Each play pod represents a real-life setting for inquisitive small people. From a supermarket to a building site, they can pretend to be anywhere and anyone.

The play pods have been carefully created to stimulate role play. The surroundings and props help to light up the imagination of young children and stir their curiosity.

Our play helpers are ready and willing to explore the play pods with the children too. They might ask questions, tell stories, or simply help them along.

Of course, we’d encourage you to join your children on their role play journey. Or, you can relax in in our lovely café. Safe in the knowledge that you’re in a friendly and secure learning environment.

THE PLAY VILLAGE ASHBOURNE

Who the sessions cater for

We believe that toddlers, pre-school, and primary school children will get the most out of The Play Village.

But, we appreciate that some children grow up faster than others, so you’re probably best placed to make that call.

There’s a baby play area, and we have baby changing and bottle warming facilities onsite too.

The Play Village is an inclusive space. We know that modern families are made up of a delightful smorgasbord of wonderfully different family members. Some related, others not. Everybody is welcome.

And, if you have physical limitations, you needn’t worry. Poles apart from traditional soft play settings, you won’t be asked to rescue your child from a 7ft climbing frame!
